Farm de Elaeis, Kampung Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor

Children enjoy the beauties of nature; they love birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. They love to waddle in the stream, pick wildflowers and snacking in the outdoor. To children, it is great fun to munch an apple while sitting on a tree stump. Playing and learning hands-on in nature is fun, memorable and meaningful experience for children. These kind of learning, experiences and knowledge will be long lasting and heartening.

Our campsite, Farm de Elaeis is located at Hulu Selangor, Kampung Kalumpang. From Kuala Lumpur to Farm de Elaeis, a car journey will take one hour and fifteen minutes. Turning into the route leading to Farm de Elaeis, one could not help but notice the variety of fruits trees, plantation farms, dainty village huts and free roaming farming livestock along the way.

Farm de Elaeis is situated on a small slope of an oil palm estate; fully equipped with basic amenities (i.e. paip water and electricity supply). Dainty comfortable wooden chalets built under the shady oil palm trees, well equipped with fan and sleeping mattresses provides participants with a good resting haven after a day of fun and exciting activities. In the morning after a good night rest, participants will wake up to melodious songs of birds chirping and cock crowing. The cool fresh crisp morning air is indeed refreshing and energizing.

Bathroom facilities are just a stone throw away from the chalet.  Stepping out of the chalets, participants will be greeted by a spacious sandy field where nature activities and games are held. These nature activities and games are specially designed to impart the value of team spirit, cooperation, self-discipline, eliciting intrinsic motivation besides fostering creativity, concentration, consideration and judgment. Farm de Elaeis also has a mini petting zoo; where participants can get acquainted with pet and livestock animals.

Kampung Kalumpang itself is also well endowed with natural and beautiful surroundings. The community are mainly involved in agricultural and farming activities, hence fruits orchards, livestock farming, flower nursery and ponds are bountiful and all within walking distance. Sundry shops, doctor clinic and a police station are conveniently located nearby for the community convenience.

Another main attraction is the Sg. Inki recreational area which boasts of cold clear mountain stream water cascading down to form a water fall; for locals and tourists alike to fish, bathe and picnic. Amidst its natural and beautiful settings, one can find many kinds of beautiful butterflies aflutter, playful dragonflies skimming over the water surface, beautiful and colourful birds chirping away without a care in the world. Indeed, Sg. Inki recreational area is truly a secret hideaway waiting to be discovered and enjoy.
